Previous description:

  • Would you like to be able to create your own incense – but you don't know how?
  • Would you like to know what's in the sticks you burn at home?
  • Would you like to learn about harvesting, drying and using fragrant wild plants?

You need a starting point. This course is here for that.

We know how to identify and harvest fragrant wild plants to make self-burning, additive-free incense sticks. That's why we created this online course and are sharing this ancient yet simple knowledge. You'll learn how to use a wide variety of plant substances in three different and complementary ways.

This training will require some elbow grease and patience, depending on the method used. I'll encourage you to get out of the house, collect resins yourself, crush and grind plants, and get your hands dirty! You'll also be able to make blends with plants from your garden and even spices from your kitchen!

We'll be doing a little cooking together! The sticks I'm going to make are Tibetan type (without a small stick in the center).

This training will provide you with everything you need to know to create your own blends.

What you will learn:

  • How to make 100% natural and organic Tibetan-style incense sticks (without a stem in the middle)
  • What raw materials can you buy commercially?.
  • What natural substances can you harvest in nature or in the garden?.
  • How to prepare the substances (drying, packaging…).
  • How to make the mixture self-combustible without adding harmful chemicals.

Who is this training for?

This workshop is an introduction to incense making. It is primarily aimed at amateurs with little prior knowledge of the subject. Experienced amateurs and professionals will certainly learn new things, but please note that this is an introductory course.

Frequently Asked Questions – Read before you buy

Are we discovering the history of incense from all countries?

This is a discovery; we will not delve into the history of each substance or its major traditions (Tibet, India, Japan, etc.). We are primarily knowledgeable about local substances, and it is these that we wish to promote.

Will we be able to harvest local plants?

This course is not a botany course. Its aim is to share and introduce you to local wild plants. Some will be easily recognizable, while others will require some learning before they can be found in nature and used. That's why we've created a lesson on how to forage for these plants.

I live outside of Europe. Are the ingredients specific to Switzerland or France?

When I talk about local incense, I mean European incense. But you'll also learn to make two blends using exotic, non-European ingredients. This way, you can adapt the recipes as you wish, with ingredients from here or elsewhere.

How many recipes does the training include?

The training includes descriptions of three methods (incense burners, charcoal, and stick making). The stick making chapter currently contains three different recipes. From these, you can create dozens of others.

You say we need to go foraging, is that between videos, something we have to do ourselves to prepare for the next video?

There are no mandatory homework assignments, but one of the goals of the training is to encourage you to go outside and collect resins around your home.

When does the training start and end?

It has no beginning or end. These are pre-recorded videos. Once purchased, you can start watching the videos in the order they appear on the program and rewatch them as many times as you like.

How long does access last?

Access to the platform is unlimited; you can access it as many times as you want.

However, it is possible that one day Cueilleurs Sauvages may cease operations or that we may decide to discontinue this training. In that case, your access will be guaranteed for a period of time. minimum one year.

I don't understand how to view the videos!

First of all, you need to connect using the same login details as during your order. Then, you can access and save the training access page Add it to your favorites. You'll just have to click on the video titles.

If I have any questions, how could I ask them?

You can ask me your questions by email and I will answer you as quickly as possible.

Are you a professional incense manufacturer?

I'm an environmentalist by training, passionate about plants and their uses. I currently make a living teaching wild plant identification and have been running incense-making workshops for six years. I learned to make incense on my own, through trial and error. It's my humble experience that I invite you to discover in this workshop.
